Tree planting

Three trees were planted today.  We planted a Scarlet Oak between 2/17, an London Plane between 1/2 and a Blue Spruce between 4/dump area.  We purchased the three trees two weeks ago.  Our Horticulturist Tim Stumpp and I went to our nursery supplier and hand picked the trees that we wanted for the spot that we wanted to put it in.  The trees were delivered yesterday.

The root balls on these trees were 4' X 4' X 3' deep

There are a few other London Plane trees near this one.  When we plant trees at FCC we are thinking long term (50 year plan).  This tree is going to be a great compliment to the course in 50 years.  This tree will potentially grow to over 100' tall.

This Scarlet Oak will provide exceptional fall color.  It produces a vibrant bright red leaf.  When we picked this tree out, it was in full fall color and very beautiful.
This tree was donated by a member.  Member donations only work if there is a need for a tree and the tree cultivar along with the planting location is determined by the Superintendent.

This Blue Spruce will help fill in a gap between 4 fairway and our dump area.
